The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

Shown by PJ on or about April 14th 2013

Deborah Kerr plays three parts in what is superficially a romantic tale. But over the course of 50 years we witness the changing face of warfare and fickle attitudes both to it and to the people involved.

Directed by Michael Powell. Despite wartime shortages it was made with cutting-edge Technicolor and stretched to nearly three hours long; possibly a bit too long.
